After months of consistent performance during lockdown, the world is returning to normal. We all have serious catching up to do in our social lives, that means for me anyway, no free weekends for a while and lots of alcohol.
Aside from the effect alcohol consumption has has on my recovery metrics, see the images below just how much it can effect me. I find one of the more disruptive things is that in my hungover state I never bother to do my journal or other daily routines. I used to beat myself up for not doing this simple things whilst hungover.


Some days I’m going to miss my journal just like I miss workouts. I needed to change my mindset around this and stop being so hard on myself. Just because I miss my workout doesn’t mean I stop working out. I adopted this to my journaling. It’s okay to miss days we all will, however just like mediation is returning to the breathe when the mind wonders, I think journaling is returning to the practice after days off.
It’s important to enjoy the good times with out friends as journaling will always be waiting for our return.
